Healthy Broomfield Lifestyles
Healthy Broomfield strives to help Broomfielders live their healthiest lives. Chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes and arthritis are among the most common, costly and preventable health problems in the U.S. today.

In Colorado, 56 counties are ranked each year in overall health outcomes and health factors by the County Health Rankings. These rankings relate to healthy outcomes and factors that drive the quality of health in a community. Some examples are high school graduation rates, tobacco use, diet and exercise, access to quality of care, and socioeconomic factors. In 2011, Broomfield ranked among the top 10 for being one of the healthiest counties in Colorado.

There are four modifiable health risk behaviors linked to chronic disease: lack of physical activity, poor nutrition, tobacco use and excessive alcohol consumption. A healthy lifestyle involves many choices on a daily basis such as choosing a healthy balanced diet and exercising.

Healthy lifestyles means choosing to make small changes overtime that can become healthful habits for life.
